Will you be spending the Thanksgiving holiday in Walt Disney World? If so, you have lots of delicious choices for your Thanksgiving Day feast. Here’s the scoop courtesy of Disney:


Walt Disney World Resort guests can indulge in a fresh take on an American tradition by enjoying their Thanksgiving feast November 26, 2015 with a bounty of Disney tastes. With more than 30 different dining choices at Disney theme parks and resorts, families and friends can come together for a variety of Thanksgiving lunch and dinner offerings.

Special holiday menus include roasted turkey breast with all the trimmings plus traditional Norwegian meatballs and pan-seared salmon at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall, poppy seed lavash, house-made naan, and apple-cranberry achar at Sanaa, roasted heirloom beets with candied walnuts and mulled apple cider at Artist Point, and other unique dishes to enjoy with the holiday classics.

Disney World ThanksgivingAt Epcot, guests can dine on Thanksgiving menus during lunch and dinner seatings at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall, Biergarten Restaurant, Coral Reef Restaurant, Le Cellier Steakhouse, Restaurant Marrakesh, and Rose & Crown Pub & Dining Room, as well as quick service at Sunshine Seasons.

Holiday menus also are offered at 50’s Prime Time Cafe, Hollywood & Vine and The Hollywood Brown Derby in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Tusker House Restaurant in Disney’s Animal Kingdom.

Club Villain At Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Good news for Disney villain fans out there! Reservations are now open for the brand new Club Villain at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. This new dining experience will be hosted by the spooky Dr. Facilier from Disney’s animated hit “The Princess and the Frog” and will take place in the newly built Sunset Showcase located at the end of Sunset Club Villain 2Boulevard near Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster. You will be able to dine and dance the night away with favorite villains such as Maleficent, Evil Queen, Cruella De Vil, and Queen of Hearts. Feast on New Orleans specialties like herb crusted tender beef strip loin, sticky wings with citrus gremolata, and spicy shrimp sautéed with Andouille sausage, tomato, okra and onions over creamy polenta. Specialty cocktails, beer, wine as well as non-alcoholic beverages will be served. While you dance, dine, drink, and mingle with the villains, you will be entertained with hilarious musical numbers and an energetic dance mix from the house DJ.

Club Villain takes place on select nights and tickets can be purchased for $99 per person including tax and gratuity. Separate admission to Hollywood Studios is required and is not included in the price of the ticket. Minnie’s Seasonal Dine At Hollywood & Vine

A new year round character experience!

Recently Disney added a new character dining experience for this year’s holiday season called Minnie’s Holiday Dine at Hollywood & Vine in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Apparently, Disney has received a good response, because they have decided to continue having Minnie and the Gang host dinner year round. With each season there will be unique décor, music, table activities, menu items, costumes, interactive musical moments, and special takeaway gifts.  Guests will be able to enjoy the seasonally themed dining event with Minnie Mouse, Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck, and Goofy. The cost is $46.99 per adult and $27.99 per child (ages 3 – 9), or one dining table service credit on the Disney Dining Plan. There is also a Fantasmic! Dining Package available that includes the character meal plus special VIP seating for Fantasmic! Prices for this package are $53.99 for adults and $42.99 for children. All prices exclude tax and gratuity.

Club Disney At Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Who’s ready to get their groove on? Well, get ready, because on December 4, 2015 the brand new Club Disney will premiere at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. This will be the first of many experiences set in the newly built Sunset Showcase special event venue located near Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster at the end of Sunset Boulevard. Club Disney should be a hit with kids and parents alike with its dance club vibe featuring favorite Disney characters, a snack bar, comfy seating, recharging stations, a DJ spinning Radio Disney Top 40 hits, plus high-tech walls and dance floor alive with Disney animation.

Club Disney is included with your Hollywood Studios theme park admission; just check the current Times Guide for operating hours.

Weather

Springtime MinnieThe weather in Disney World during March can be beautiful. The average high is about 78 degrees, the average low is about 54 degrees and the average rainfall is about 4.01 inches. March is the fifth rainiest month of the year with generally mild temperatures. Hurricane season has not yet begun, however there are the occasional severe storms with tornadoes during this time of year. Remember that although it can reach the upper 70’s by afternoon, low 50’s waiting for the bus in the morning can be very chilly, especially given the high humidity levels in Florida.

Crowds

In years past, March typically began with moderate crowds and by mid-month when a lot of schools begin their Spring Breaks, the crowd levels became high. In 2016, crowd levels are expected to be high throughout the month due to the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival, St. Patrick’s Day, Spring Break, Easter, and an overall increase in attendance seen in the last several months. Pack your patience!

Epcot International Flower And Garden FestivalA wonderful part about visiting Disney World in March is the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival. In 2016, the event will run from March 2 – May 30 and features over 100 topiaries, interesting gardening demonstrations, beautiful flowers, weekend music concerts and several outdoor kitchens serving delicious foods and beverages. Raglan RoadFor an exciting St. Patrick’s Day celebration, head over to Raglan Road Irish Pub & Restaurant in Disney Springs for music, food, and fun.

Disney Easter Egg HuntIf you are visiting around Easter, Disney always has additional offerings to celebrate the holiday. There is usually an Easter parade in Magic Kingdom, meet and greets with Mr. and Mrs. Easter Bunny, and the Epcot Egg-stravaganza Easter Egg Hunt. Planning Tips

If you are traveling to Disney World in March 2016, your planning is probably well under way at this point. Here’s a checklist to make sure you are on track:

  • Make sure you have created your My Disney Experience account. If you haven’t, click here to sign up now.
  • If you haven’t already made your dining reservations, be sure to make them now by clicking here.
  • If you are staying on site, be sure to customize your MagicBand on your My Disney Experience account by picking the color and adding your name. And if you really want to make your MagicBand special, personalize it with your own custom designed MagicBand Skin from Magic YOUR Band. Click here to get started!
  • Now is a great time to research what attractions you and your family would like to see at the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom. Because Walt Disney World is so large, it is very difficult to see everything during one trip, so be sure to get everyone’s top priorities. This is also a great time to begin looking at menus for counter service restaurants so that you have an idea of which locations serve foods that your entire family will enjoy.
  • Whether you are staying on site or off-property, be sure to purchase your admission tickets and link them to your My Disney Experience account.
  • 501 WaysOnce your tickets are linked and at exactly 60 days in advance of your check in date (midnight EST time) if you are staying on site or 30 days in advance for all other guests, login to your My Disney Experience account and book your Fastpass+ reservations.
  • If you are staying on site, be sure to check in online at 60 days out from your arrival date.
  • Double check your flight times and if you will be using Disney’s Magical Express for your airport transportation make your reservation at least 60 days in advance by clicking here.
  • It’s never too early to start creating a packing list so that you don’t forget anything.
