Disney's Hollywood Studios

Entertainment Experiences Slowly Returning To Hollywood Studios

If you have visited Disney’s Hollywood Studios in the last few years, you’ve undoubtedly noticed the increase in crowds and longer wait times throughout the park since the openings of Toy Story Land and Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. The decreased park capacity along with numerous shuttered attractions due to the COVID-19 pandemic have brought these issues to the forefront. Luckily, entertainment is slowly returning to Hollywood Studios to help accommodate and spread out visitors. Earlier this month, “For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration,” pop up celebrity motorcades, and “Disney Junior Play & Dance!” have been added to the line up of fun offerings eager guests can enjoy during their visit to the park.

Disney Parks Blog shared some exciting details…

Frozen Sing-Along CelebrationYou can once again join Erik and Aria, the Royal Historians of Arendelle, for their comedic retelling of the unique story of their kingdom, filled with delightful, sing-along moments from Disney’s “Frozen” and special appearances by Anna, Elsa and Kristoff. “For the First Time in Forever: A Frozen Sing-Along Celebration” will be the same incredible show guests have loved for the past six years, with some adjustments to staging and audience seating to allow for appropriate physical distancing.

Hollywood Studios Celebrity MotorcadeRolling intermittently throughout the day, you never know when some of your favorite characters might pass by, so have your camera ready! Each celebrity motorcade features stars on the street and others – like Mickey Mouse, Edna Mode or Doc McStuffins – riding in colorful custom convertibles powered by Chevrolet. Mickey and Friends Motorcade highlights Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Pluto and their friends Chip ‘n’ Dale, accompanied by a bouncy musical score inspired by Disney cartoon shorts. The Pixar Pals Motorcade takes the Incredibles, Woody, Buzz Lightyear and others down the avenue, waving to their fans to the beat of the Green Army Drum Corps. And the Disney Junior Stars Motorcade brings favorite TV friends Fancy Nancy, Doc McStuffins and Vampirina to Hollywood Boulevard.

Disney Junior Play & Dance! Disney Junior fans are also invited to join the fun at “Disney Junior Play & Dance!” in the Animation Courtyard. Each party performance throughout the day features a dynamic DJ spinning favorite songs from Disney Junior TV shows, plus special onstage appearances by Disney Junior stars such as Mickey Mouse, Vampirina and more.

Along with these recent entertainment additions, guests can also enjoy the following attractions:

  • Alien Swirling Saucers
  • Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy
  • Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway
  • Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run
  • Muppet*Vision 3D
  • Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster
  • Slinking Dog Dash
  • Star Tours – The Adventure Continues
  • Toy Story Mania!
  • Vacation Fun
  • Walt Disney Presents
  • Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance

Hopefully, as conditions improve, we will see more attractions, entertainment, and experiences returning to Walt Disney World once again!

Walt DisneyWalt’s Words

“Over at our place, we’re sure of just one thing: everybody in the world was once a child. So in planning a new picture, we don’t think of grown-ups, and we don’t think of children. But just of that fine, clean, unspoiled spot down deep in every one of us, that maybe the world has made us forget. ”

Disney Did You Know

In the Haunted Mansion, the ghosts in the Grand Ballroom Scene are actually reflections of animatronics located above and below the Doom Buggy track. This is a variation of the “Pepper’s Ghost” illusion.

Tip Of The Week

Remember to stay hydrated and nourished. Fatigue and irritability can set in fast if you let yourself get overly thirsty or hungry. Take a few minutes to refuel and try some of the tasty food and beverage choices that Disney World has to offer. This will help give you the energy you need to keep going.

Walt’s Words

“Children are people, and they should have to reach to learn about things, to understand things, just as adults have to reach if they want to grow in mental stature. Life is composed of lights and shadows, and we would be untruthful, insincere, and saccharine if we tried to pretend there were no shadows. Most things are good, and they are the strongest things; but there are evil things too, and you are not doing a child a favor by trying to shield him from reality. The important thing is to teach a child that good can always triumph over evil.”
