Epcot Flower & Garden FestivalDisney Did You Know

At least 25 different plants, grasses and mosses of various colors, including pink and red begonias, dusty miller, palm fiber, palm seeds, ficus and lichen, are used to create and define facial and other features of festival character topiaries displayed during the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival. The topiary team uses about 200 one-pound boxes of hairpins to attach plants and flowers to the topiaries.

Tip Of The Week

Epcot is a perfect choice for doing a split day with one park in the morning and another at night. My family often spends the morning in Magic Kingdom using our prebooked Fastpass+ then, after a mid-day break; we head over to Epcot to tour World Showcase at night where no Fastpass+ reservations are needed.

30 million blooms blanket the park throughout the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival, which runs 90 colorful days and requires two complete crop rotations to keep floral displays fresh and seasonal.

Tip Of The Week

When you are booking your advance dining reservations and your Fastpass+ attractions, be sure to consider the timing. In my family, if we were to stuff ourselves with a chicken pot pie and peanut butter & jelly shake from 50’s Prime Time Café, then follow it up immediately with a turbulent ride on Tower of Terror, you would NOT want to be riding in our elevator!

If you are visiting Magic Kingdom when the park is open late, you’ll be happy to know that the crowd level often drops some after the fireworks. Many guests choose to leave after the show to try to beat the lines for transportation that will form once the park closes. You can take advantage of this extra hour or so to ride some of the more popular attractions that normally have lengthy waits.

As a result, the wait for Spaceship Earth can be very long in the morning. Make a Fastpass+ reservation for later in the day or hop in line on your way out of the park in the evening instead.
