Festival Of The Lion King Reopening

Great news for fans of live entertainment at Walt Disney World; in January it was announced that a modified version of Festival of the Lion King would be reopening at Disney’s Animal Kingdom later this year, and now we have more details. Earlier this week, President of Walt Disney World Resort, Jeff Vahle, posted on his Instagram:

Our cast is back in rehearsals for “A Celebration of Festival of the Lion King,” preparing for the show’s mid-May debut as entertainment continues to return across Walt Disney World. Disney’s Animal Kingdom Vice President Sarah Riles and I stopped in to welcome them recently, and hearing that wonderful, familiar music put a lump in my throat. Thrilled to have these talented Cast Members back on our stage!

The modified version of Festival of the Lion King will have adjustments including updated choreography to allow for social distancing as well as how the audience is seated. Get ready to hear some of our favorite Lion King songs again such as “I Just Can’t Wait to Be King,” “Can You Feel the Love Tonight?,” and “Circle of Life!”

The 2021 Taste Of EPCOT International Flower And Garden Festival Themed Gift Cards

Epcot Flower and Garden 34Will you be visiting the Taste of EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival this spring? If so, here’s a helpful tip for you; when making purchases at the Outdoor Kitchens rather than using cash, credit card, or MagicBand, why not use a Disney Gift Card? When I vacation during Flower & Garden in the spring or Food & Wine Festival in the fall, I always find it easier to load a Disney Gift Card and make my food and drink purchases with it. Not only does it help set a budget for my spending, it is also more convenient especially when using the mini gift cards that are designed with a wrist band.

For this year’s event, Disney is offering two designs; the first one features Spike bringing flowers to the topiary version of Figment, and the second features Spike smelling the EPCOT flowers. Both designs come with a coordinating wrist strap, can be activated for as little as $15, and reloaded as many times as you would like.

Currently the Taste of EPCOT International Flower & Garden Design gift cards are available at EPCOT resort area hotels as well as locations throughout EPCOT while supplies last.

Do you use a gift card during the Taste of EPCOT Flower & Garden Festival?

A New Look Is Coming For Main Street Confectionery

Confectionery 2One of my family’s favorite spots on Main Street, U.S.A. in Magic Kingdom is Main Street Confectionery. From its delightful smells to its tasty treats, this location is always a must visit for us during each of our Walt Disney World vacations. Recently, Main Street Confectionery along with The Chapeau closed for an extensive refurbishment that will bring with it more retail space as well as interactive experiences allowing guests to customize their desserts. Until Main Street Confectionery reopens later this year, don’t worry, you’ll still be able to satisfy your Disney sweet tooth. You can track down many treats from Main Street Confectionery at Emporium and Main Street Cinema. For Disney hats, including the iconic Mickey Mouse ears, head across the street to Box Office Gifts at the Town Square Theatre. And if it’s collectibles and limited edition artwork you’re after, Bonjour! Village Gifts is the place to go.
