Vacation Fun At Mickey Shorts Theater

Calling all Mickey and Minnie Mouse fans! Not only did the fun-filled Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway debut at Disney’s Hollywood Studios this year, so did the hilarious original animated short, “Vacation Fun,” at the cute new Mickey Shorts Theater. If you didn’t get a chance to check it out before the closure, here’s what you can expect too see during your next visit according to Disney:

The original animated short, “Vacation Fun,” celebrates Mickey and Minnie’s favorite vacation memories, plus a few new adventures! “Vacation Fun,” which is exclusive to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, will feature new animation and clips from favorite Mickey shorts, including Panda-monium, Couples Sweaters, Potatoland, Croissant de Triomphe, Entombed, Dumb Luck, Al Rojo Vivo, Yodelburg and Outback at Ya!.

After the show, guests can make even more memories by stepping into life-sized versions of beloved animated Mickey shorts, where they can pose for photos with family and friends. Existing shorts from the Mickey Mouse television series that are being used in the post show photo experience are Yodelburg, Potatoland, Entombed and Panda-monium.

Next time you visit Disney’s Hollywood Studios to take a ride on Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway, be sure to you check out “Vacation Fun” at the Mickey Shorts Theater, and I hope to see ya’ there real soon!

Experience the ultimate glow party at Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon water park. Make waves with Rex, the Dinosaur of Ceremonies, and his Toy Story pals during their biggest glow party yet—one your whole family won’t want to miss!

Event Highlights

  • DJ Dance Party: Groove to tunes on the sandy beaches by the Surf Pool.
  • Toy Story Pals: Enjoy a fun character greeting experience.
  • Glowing Backdrops: Delight in the lit-up scenery that surrounds you.
  • Unique Food and Souvenirs: Treat yourself to a tempting array of limited-time specialty-themed bites, drinks, and souvenirs available for purchase.
  • Adults Only Area: Special area just for adult party-goers featuring entertainment and a bar with refreshing libations available for purchase (ages 21 and older).
  • Attraction Access: Enjoy access to all of Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon water park attractions with shorter wait times.
  • Special Glow: Upon arrival, receive a unique Glow wristband especially themed for the event.

Most Wednesdays and Saturdays from June 3 through August 29, 2020: 

  • June 3, 6, 10, 17, 20 and 27
  • July 4, 8, 11, 15, 18, 22, 25 and 29

Spaceship EarthDisney Did You Know

Spaceship Earth, the visual and thematic centerpiece of Epcot, weighs 16 million pounds — more than three times that of a space shuttle fully fueled and ready for launch. The outer “skin” of Spaceship Earth is made up of 11,324 aluminum and plastic-alloy triangles. Also, did you know that rainwater never falls off the sphere? It’s channeled into the ball and funneled away.

Tip Of The Week

If you are looking for a unique place to watch the parade or evening fireworks at Magic Kingdom, view them from the second floor of the Main Street train station. You’ll want to get there early, depending on crowd levels, possibly an hour or more in advance, to claim a space. There are so many things about this location that make it ideal. It is slightly elevated for an unobstructed view, it is covered to protect you from the sun or rain, there are tables and chairs available so that you can eat a snack or meal while you wait, and being directly in line with Cinderella Castle it offers a full panoramic view of the parade and fireworks.

First Look At Disney’s DuckTales World Showcase Adventure

As Disney continues to reimagine Epcot, we must say good-bye to another favorite, Agent P’s World Showcase Adventure, and hello to its replacement, Disney’s DuckTales World Showcase Adventure. This is another park experience that I will miss…who doesn’t love the adorable Perry? But I am optimistic, that Disney will not disappoint with new technology and surprises for guests with its updated version – Disney’s DuckTales World Showcase Adventure.

Here’s what Disney had to say about Epcot‘s updated experience:

Disney’s DuckTales World Showcase Adventure invites guests to join Scrooge McDuck, Donald, nephews Huey, Dewey and Louie, Launchpad and Webby in search of priceless treasure. Using the Play Disney Parks mobile app, guests take a trip around World Showcase discovering exotic destinations, exciting mysteries, and maybe even a few thieves, villains and supernatural guardians of ancient artifacts.

First Look At Harmonious Coming Soon To Epcot

Throughout the next couple of years, Epcot is undergoing a massive transformation with new attractions, shows, dining, and experiences being added to the park. One of the most anticipated is the nighttime spectacular “Harmonious” that will follow the interim show “Epcot Forever” which replaced the beloved “IllumiNations.”

While I was sad to see “IllumiNations” go, I am excited to bid farewell to “Epcot Forever” and to see what “Harmonious” has in store for us. Here’s what Disney had to say about Epcot‘s new nighttime spectacular:

“Harmonious” will bring to World Showcase Lagoon an innovative toolkit of massive floating set pieces that house a variety of show effects, including custom-built LED panels, choreographed moving fountains, colorful lights, lasers, pyrotechnics and more.

The show is a beautifully crafted nighttime dreamscape of Disney music and images, reimagined by diverse cultural musicians and artists from around the world. It’s a transformative experience, where we can discover how Disney music has the power to inspire and unite us all.
